END OF AN ERA
Faithfully every year, she would give her Christmas message and share her faith in God, hope, and encouragement for the future, a silver thread that hung every year of her reign like a jewel on her crown, keeping the continuity of her Kingdom. We will miss that.

THE STORYTELLER
It is the same with our stories of faith. When God has acted in a family and helped someone, those stories strengthen the family’s faith. We may read stories in the Bible, but it is much easier to believe when we hear of other people’s faith in our own culture and that it is still possible for God to act in our own family.

MY CHILD IS AN ADDICT
We need to have the compassionate heart of Jesus when dealing with people whose lives are shattered by addictions. Practical care, prayer and a listening ear, without judgement or criticism will go a long way to support parents, even when nothing seems to be happening with the addict.

MARGIN OF LOSS -MY CHILD ASKED ME TO HELP HER DIE
God seems to show me more and more from the story. I’m blessed with the understanding that even if there is loss, God can cause rejoicing. For me, one of the incredible comforts have been that Shirley’s struggles and pain are gone, her unhappiness a thing of the past, and that I have not had to help her do Covid!

BORDERS – IMMIGRANTS IN THE MARGINS
Help people transition into their new place of abode and feel at home while retaining their identity, not only as human beings but also made in God’s image and worthy of love and acceptance.

DIVORCE WAS NOT AN OPTION
We can’t erase the past, and divorce will always be a part of our history. We can find ways to move to a place where divorce no longer has emotional power in our lives.

LIVING IN THE MARGINS
Do we allow ourselves sufficient margins of time to have rest and cope with emergencies? Or is every spare minute full of something?

JESUS LISTENED TO WOMEN ABUSED BY THE PATRIARCHIAL SYSTEM
. These women if they lived today would still more than likely be marginalized because of the systems that kept them in their circumstances, often play out into lives of women today.
